Well it’s that time of year again, Earth Day 2011. Being in the environmental business I have seen such a spike in green related, earth related, recycling related, sustainability related news and article come across the wire that my inbox is screaming for help! At the same time sponsorship and ad requests are hot on their heels. ‘Hey your company recycles right? Well how about sponsoring our sustainable toilet seats for Earth Day?”. Yeah because  that is such a match for what we do.

Flip through my Twitter feed and there is one particular one that always solicits people to learn more about being green and responsible…and than get a coupon to buy more stuff or win something that will just negate the whole being green aspect. The marketing and sales gloss just seems to be painted on thicker each year. Layer upon layer of $$ had diluted what was such a simple concept in the being: To help our environment and be more environmentally conscious in our businesses and our everyday lives. It now is starting to read: To help our pockets become more greenback aware with items in your everyday life. Buy this to be greener then your green neighbor and show the world that you are green and not just trying to be green, but really green green.
