All aboard this train of thought as it leaves that station: Last night I saw a commercial for Sam Adams that was talking about the correct glass to use for their beer, darker the better. Then this morning on the radio I heard that it was National Beer Day. When I got to my desk there was an email about what happens to the glass from recycled lamps.
I know what you’re think. No,glass from the lamp recycling process is not used to make beer bottles, but it is used in the construction industry to mix with concrete and as a sub-straight for paving material which is still pretty cool. After the lamps go through our new lamp equipment with a specially designed air filtration system it comes out as glass cullet at the end of the process ready to be used, but I still think there maybe a missed opportunity for Sam Adams to use it for their “Lamp Recycling Lager”.
